Rodney Fletcher Vintners

Rodney Fletcher Vintners are Kent wine merchants & shippers importing and distributing wine to trade and private customers since 1955
The History
1930 Wyndham Fletcher, in need of a job, applied for a junior position at the port house of Cockburn & Smithies. Achieving employment on merit alone, and nothing at all to do with the fact that his great aunt was married to Henry Cockburn, he rose swiftly through the ranks, becoming managing director of the
London office and overseeing Cockburn Smithies’ takeover by Harveys of Bristol in 1962. He retired the following decade but was retained as a consultant and continued to travel to the Douro regularly to taste the vintage

In 1955 Rodney Fletcher joined his father at Cockburns, followed him to Harveys, then worked for several wine agencies until establishing his first business, Seely & Fletcher, in the early 1970s, Stapylton Fletcher in the late 1970s and Rodney Fletcher Vintners in 1992

Although officially retired, he still pays frequent visits to our premises and retains a keen interest in the wines on offer
In 2004 Tim Fletcher joined his father at Rodney Fletcher Vintners, becoming managing director in 2010 on his father's retirement

We are an independent, family owned wine importer & wholesaler, supplying the on and off-trades across the South East of England and private customers nationally through our online portal.

We import hundreds of wines, many of which are exclusive to us in the UK and several of our growers have been with us for decades (as have many of our customers)
