Bodegas Pedro Martínez Alesanco Blanco Fermentado en Barrica 2017, white Rioja made from old vine Tempranillo Blanco and Viura, fermented in new French oak before being left on its lees for a few months
Golden colour, slightly dirty oak on the nose, not much primary fruit left on the palate and a saline savoury streak not unlike Fino sherry, good for sipping with nibbles, but signs of age on the finish suggesting another reason for said nibbles
